Kids Folk Doll Workshop
When I was a child I wanted to have a doll to play with but my grandmother could not afford to buy me one. One day, after pleading constantly, she gave me some old clothes, thread and a few safety pins. She told me to look for other materials and make my own doll. What I made that day was similar to this fabric folk doll, maybe not as great as this but I will cherish this memory always. I took great pride in what I made from the recycled materials and none of the other children had a doll like mine. She was unique and I loved her.
This workshop was a collaboration between myself and Cobie Ann Moore at the AGNSW part of FOMArt: Youth Collective, this was under Front Up program.
Cobie and I decided that we would share our skills through art making and video editing.
